Craft foam ideas

Sports Pencil Toppers

Cut craft foam into shapes to represent favorite sports: football, baseball, soccer ball, basketball, volleyball, sports jerseys, helmets, team mascots, roller/ice skates, etc. (You're on your own on the hockey masks!) Paint and glue yarn, felt, sparkles, beads, etc, to decorate. Let dry.

Make two alike for each pencil topper. Wrap top of a pencil in plastic wrap (so it won't stick). Glue the two foam shapes back to back around the pencil. Use clothes pins to keep them snug while drying. Pull out pencil and plastic wrap so it can fit over any pencil.

The same project could be done with animals or other shapes. Or it could be done with one decorated and one plain foam shape, and troop name and a pin on the back.

Craft Foam Butterfly Pin

Cut shape of entire butterfly with wings from craft foam. Cut shapes of body and wing markings from colored felt, tissue paper, or chenille stems and glue on. (Craft foam should be white if using colored tissue paper; the base color of the wings if using felt or chenille stems.) Glue on wiggle eyes and draw face if desired. Glue chenille stems for antennae and bend or curl tips. Writh troop name and glue pin on back.

Craft Foam Vehicle Pins

Cut shape of entire vehicle from colored craft foam. Cut details from felt (if flat markings) or craft foam (if 3D details, like wheels). Glue together. Reinforce areas (like this cherry picker) with chenille stems glued on back, if necessary. Write troop name and glue pin on back.

Fortune cookies

Cut tan craft foam in circles. Glue on tag with troop name. Fold edges into middle, then curl to make a fortune cookie shape with the tag sticking out. Glue pin to back.

Foam Holiday Wreath

Cut wreath shape from craft foam. Decorate with felt, ribbons, glitter, mini pom pom, beads, etc. Write troop name on back and glue on pin.
