Mini Fly Swatters

Cut squares from colored plastic mesh. Glue or tie onto craft sticks or craft foam. Attach safety pin or glue bar pin to back of craft stick.

Mini Tomato and Strawberry Pin Cushions

Use thin red cotton broadcloth. Cut into on circle and a smaller half circle.

Cut two green felt shapes like the stem ends of the tomato and strawberry, one smaller than the other.

Form red circle around a cotton ball. Glue larger green felt shape on top and pin to hold until dry. Form red half circle around smaller bit of cotton and glue edges to make a cone. Fold over top to cover cotton and glue on felt shape; pin until dry.

Wrap tomato with green thread to as shown. Attach ends of a little piece of green yarn or cord to tops of tomato and strawberry to join. Glue on tag with troop name and attach pin.

Mini maracas

Glue large wood beads on top of tiny dowels. Glue in pairs to safety pins and wrap with ribbon, yarn, or cord. Attach tag with troop name.

Got Cookies Pin

Use clear plastic top from a squeeze bottle. Fill with cotton with a little snip of coffee stirrer straw. Seal top of cotton with white craft glue after inserting a little bit of yarn or cord for hanging.

Glue "Got Cookies?" label on front. Glue label with troop name on back. Hang on safety pin.

Mini toilet paper

Cut tissue paper in long thin strip. Roll up around plain drinking straw. (Ideally, paper straw with metal skewer inside to keep it stiff.) Glue end so a little hangs over. Snip straw so it doesn't stick out sides of roll.

Insert large safety pin into center of straw, or else thread through hemp cord or use wire to make a coathanger shape and put a safety pin through that.. Write troop name on back of roll.

Bedroll

Roll colored felt into bedroll. Wrap with cord and tie. Glue barpin and tag with troop name on back.


Campfire

Glue sticks together. (Extra credit if your fire has fuel in log cabin on outside and kindling in teepee in center!)

Glue red, orange and yellow felt in layers like flames. Put a little yellow or blue paint on top. Glue on back of sticks. Glue on barpin and tag with troop name.

Canteen Swap

Glue two film container tops together with an opaque pony bead on top. You may need to sand edges for glue to stick, or really melt 'em with hot glue.

Glue plastic lanyard around edge for strap, and hang on safety pin. Write troop name on back with sharpie marker.

Latrine Duty Swap

Cut opaque film cannister down to bucket shape. Make holes and insert wire for handle.

Make tiny toilet brush with a snip of plastic straw and chenille stem.

Insert long safety pin through both handles. Write troop name on slip of paper and double over safety pin and glue.

Pizza Slice

Materials:
· tan fun foam
· assorted colors of felt or fun foam scraps
· tiny pompoms
· brown marker
· glue

Instructions:
Cut a triangle from the fun foam about 2 inches from point to "crust." Color back edge with brown marker for crust. Decorate with scraps of felt and pompoms for toppings. Attach a pin back.

Sleeping Girl Scout

Materials:
· wooden spoon
· flesh colored acrylic paint
· felt
· cotton ball
· glue

Instructions:
Paint a wooden spoon with flesh colored acrylic paint. When dry, paint on facial features. Glue on hair. Cut a 6-inch by 1¼ inch piece of felt. Fold in half and glue the edges, stopping ½ inch from open end. Fold ½ inch over on one side and glue. Stuff one cotton ball inside sleeping bag for camper's body, then insert spoon girl. If desired, make a tiny pillow, stuffed with a cotton ball. Glue under camper's head.


Toasted Marshmallow SWAP

Materials:
· Twig or wire
· White pony bead
· Glue
· Safety pin

Directions:
Glue the pony bead on one end of the twig. Glue safety pin on the long side of the twig. Markers can be used to make the "marshmallow" look more realistic, or tan or even charcoal gray beads can be used.

If using wire, twist into long fork, and flare ends to hold pony bead in place before gluing.
